Jazz has always held a sweet spot in the heart of music lovers. The Love Supreme Festival held in the month of July in East Sussex has earned the admiration of Jazz lovers ever since its inception in the year 2013. This year too will mark the celebration of the event from 1st to 3rd July in the beautiful surroundings of Glynde Palace.
About the event
The festival was conceptualized with the idea of combining the best of many European Jazz festivals such as North Sea Jazz, London Jazz Festival and many more along with famous camping festivals in the UK such as Latitude and Bestival. It is a weekend festival of its own kind and attracts day-trippers and non-campers as well.
The festival is held across four stages with the Main Stage hosting the more famous and contemporary ones. The Big Top caters to the very best of international and UK artists. Younger performers passionate about Jazz find space in the Arena. The best jazz artists of East Sussex and Brighton get to perform at the Bandstand.
The event is a classic combination of music, activities, camping, lectures and much more. Your mood will be further hypnotized by electric music.
Some of the famous artists who have graced the festival in the years leading up to this event are Van Morrison, Bryan Ferry, Jamie Cullum, Hugh Masekela, Gregory Porter, Chaka Khan, Branford Marsalis, Robert Glasper, Snarky Puppy, Courtney Pine and many others.
The year 2016 will feature highly acclaimed artists such as Grace Jones, Caro Emerald, St Germain and Kelis to name a few.
Camping during the event
A weekend camping ticket is probably the best way to enjoy this glorious festival. This ticket ensures admission to the festival and various camping sites. One of the more popular ways of enjoying the festival is by resorting to weekend camping, also known as Love Supremium. You can pitch up a tent in the heart of the venue and get access to better facilities. The quiet setting of the manor house near the venue is another campsite which will improve your chances of enjoying a more pleasurable experience. Visitors, who want to enjoy the comforts of a caravan during breaks, will have to buy a ‘caravan pitch’. You may also book one of the Bluebell Tents that can shelter more than two people. Other very good options are Hobbit Huts and Podpads.
Besides the Jazz
There is a lot you can do apart from watching the Jazz bands. Give your body a dose of rejuvenation with a choice of massages at the Supreme Wellbeing Arena. Let your taste buds experience the delight of an assortment of street food delicacies at Love Supreme. Lastly, celebrate Verve records 60th anniversary at the festival this year with a range of talks, film screenings and interviews by famed artists.
