The traditional German celebration of arrival of the spring, Maifest is all about delicious food, live music and dancing. Like the famous Octoberfest, this event has also grown in popularity and is famous throughout the world. The German community of Chicago welcomes people from all around the world to this fest at Lincoln Square. Maifest Chicago kicks off with ‘Old Town School of Folk Music’ and ‘The Captain Blood Expedition’. A number of programmes are hosted, each with its uniquely distinctive style. Maifest Chicago serves beer, sauerkraut, brats, and other traditional German fare.

Bike the Drive
Bike the Drive is one of the most famous cycling events in the USA. Each year, a large number of people visit Lake Shore Drive to enjoy the iconic views of Chicago’s skyline, while pedalling away. You can choose to cycle just a few blocks, or you can stretch it to 30 miles. In 2015, the event will feature three rest stops along the route. Grab a cycle and start your day by watching a gorgeous sunrise over Lake Michigan, and as you go along, the day will grow more and more interesting.
